Separate Roland Aira T-8 Bass and Drums Channels

Here is a quick tip I picked up for recording the Roland Aira T-8. You can separate out the Bass and Drums in the mix by hardpanning them left and right. This allows you to easily control the volume of the bass and drumkit instruments separately on your mixer, or record them independently.

Stereo Splitter Cable

First up you require a stereo splitter cable similar to the one shown that splits the 3.5mm stereo output from the Roland T-8 and separates it out into two mono signals for your mixer.

Menu Diving

And now for the famous Roland Menu diving. Head into the Main Menu using the [SHIFT] + [OCT+ (MENU)] button combination, and turn the [TEMPO/VALUE] knob to select the [PAn] option, select the BASS and adjust the [PAn] all the way to right. Then select each drum sound in turn and adjust the [PAn] all the way to left.

And now you can enjoy separate T8 Bass and Drum channels on your mixer and recordings

Now go make some Beats and Bass!
